Does the Bridal Industry do enough for Plus Sized women/brides?

I already answered on the other question; but here it is again.
I married in 1989 and had to settle on a dress that was not what I wanted. It appears there are more plus size options now; but the dresses are downright dowdy. I wanted a sleek satin dress with a lace overcoat that fell into a very short train. I think I have seen one since; but the only dresses available in my size in 1989 were poofy.
Oh, and to make matters more difficult, I needed about three inches more on the length.
