What type of creative gift would be ideal for this bridal shower?
hrhtheprincessofeire asked:
I’ve been invited to a Bridal Shower for a couple that have set up housekeeping already. The theme of the shower is “Time-of-Day” so, you pick a gift that is something the bride would use at a specified time of day. My assigned time is 11 am. I’d like creative and not terribly expensive, but fun, gift ideas?

Wow…that’s a hard one.
I would give her a Restoration pack….from all that honeymoon sex. She’s got to be just waking up right!. Cold pack for her eyes. No real sleep. Gen sing for energy. Ice pack for her ..ya know. keep that going. I think it would be hilarious.

how about going to the $ store, dollar tree, big lots…along that line. you can find say a wash basket cheap and some washcloths, dish towels, bath towels, some laundry detergent, dish soap, dishwasher soap etc. …mondays are the days I usually do laundry (towels) and fold them and set the dishwasher on. or how about an iron to iron the towels.
another idea, a teacup filled w/different flavors of tea, some cookie mixes (tea & cookie break–hey we females need a break from the housework wouldn’t you agree?) or if she works, some blank vcr tapes so she can tape her soap operas, a coffe mug w/her favorite coffee creamer, coffee blend to take to work.
or what about a joy basket filled with inexpensive toys she had as a kid–ex- pick up sticks, jacks, marbles, dominoes, coloring book, crayons, etc. I have one and use it when I am sick or when friends come over. they get a big kick out of my groucho marx glasses and stuffed animals I’ve added over the yrs. plus how about some comedy dvds like carrot top, robin williams or some old time radio tapes. (i listen to mine on the weekend)..they are hillarious…jack benny, george burns, bob hope to name a few. you can find them at amazon, barnes & noble, any bookstore.

How about something related to brunch. Get an item that can be used either at breakfast or lunch.

Hmm, morning tea time? Mugs or those fab french Cafe au Lait cups, good coffee or tea, some gorgeous shortbreads, or other yummy biscuits. Some good drinking chocolate (and marshmallows).

Ouch, this is a tough one, and a tough time of day.
I would get a 6 month subscription to TV Guide!
No, all joking aside, get something for the pool. People need sunscreen at this time of day, so get the bride and groom some sunscreen, and maybe cute visors to protect their face from the damaging effects of the sun.

How about a Belgium Waffle Iron (not many people have them, but makes a great, unique BRUNCH item) and a book on waffle making? Maybe add a little negligee for her to make the waffles in?
