I need a makeup artist to come on-site and apply my makeup. The salon I go to charges $40, but they do not go on location. I asked the girls at MAC and she charges $100 for the bride and $75 for others. Is that a rip off?

I am the maid of honor and I completly understand my role to support the bride in prep for her special day. Not to mention, I am so excited for my best friend, the bride-to-be. But, it seems like she’s trying to make things more difficult for herself, her bridesmaids, mother, groom, and others by making descisions that are not necessarily in her best interest. For example, asking for input about bridesmaids dresses, but ignoring it so that the dresses are unflattering to the girls and don’t necessarily compliment the the bride. I thought of getting her a bride’s etiquette book as a gift to help her handle situations, as she is already confused about how wedding planning works but I don’t know if she’ll find it helpful or insulting(she could go either way) and I don’t know if she’ll get the hint.I want to do my job to help choose and plan. Should I talk to her before things get really bad? I feel like if I don’t, things will get worse. Help!!!
It’s not that I just don’t agree with her descisions, it’s just that I want her wedding to be her perfect day. I don’t want her to look back on the wedding day and have her say “why didn’t you tell me?” when something isn’t perfect or quite how she pictured it.
I’m trying to stand behind her and be her support, but not at the expense of helping her best day being perfect or our friendship.

I agree that every bridal party should care for their bride enough to throw them a shower and a bachelorette party. However, I am in a wedding this year and the bride is acting like these things are entitlements rather than gifts or genstures from her bridal party. She has laid out explicitly what she wants for both and both are pretty over the top. She wanted a shower a year before the wedding because she scheduled to move into her house then and wanted to have everything all at once. She scheduled a ridiculous bachelorette party a week before Christmas and created a detailed itinerary for the day, indicated that we must have t-shirts made with a “catchy phrase” about her. Isn’t that stuff that the bridal party should come up with? I feel like we can’t do anything nice for her because she’s being too specific. Shouldn’t you let the bridal party act on their own? I agree that every bride should give the girls an idea of what they want but not like this.
To give a little more detail to the bachelorette party around the holidays- 30 bars in 8 hours, rented bus and of course the t-shirts with the phrase. She offered to pay if the cost got out of controll.
