What has Condom Etiquette got to do with the Environment?

Every year in the UK about 150 million used condoms are flushed down the loo, clogging water treatment filters and causing overflows on rivers and beaches. Not nice to find them when looking in rock pools!

Latex condoms are biodegradable in landfill so use them and put them in the bin.

So what else has the Condom Etiquette got to do with the Environment?
Surprised no body gave me other examples or even mentioned that condom use prevents unwanted pregnancy which negatively impacts on the environment (more mouths, more space, more use of natural resources).
