Anyways, what do YOU think is the age to start wearing makeup? By makeup, I mean, eyeshadow, mascara, foundation, eyeliner, all that stuff.. And what amounts of the makeup?

We have a 13 year old who will be 14 in Sept. We started letting her wear mascarra just after she turned 13 because we were haveing such an issue with her sneaking on makeup at school. We though if we gave in a little she would stop sneeking makeup. She is beautiful without it (we have told her this) and shouldn’t have to feel she has to wear makeup to be pretty, to be cool, or to fit in. She doesn’t wash it off like she should and the mascarra is not only on her lashes like it should be but always smudged down onto her lids too like eyeliner that has been slept in. I have thought about letting her wear a light brown eyeliner and maybe a clear mascarra. I just think young girls are being made up to look much older than they really are and that isn’t a good thing. The crowd of girls she has decided to hang out with also like to put black eyeliner on so it looks like it is running down their face, she thinks that is so cool and would do it herself if we let her. Any suggestions?
